Java Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY:
As Java Engineer at Search Initiatives, you will work with a team of highly talented project Internet Marketers.
This role reports to the Chief Technology Officer. The position offers the unique opportunity to operate in an entrepreneurial environment and to define the strategy, innovation and evolution of our online business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Actively contribute to software development.
• Solve difficult problems with elegant and practical code.
• Preparation of software design specifications and other forms of architectural documentation.
• Resolve defects/bugs during QA testing, pre-production, production, and post-release patches.
• Contribute to the design and architecture of the project.
• Define technical scope of products and their features.
• Support users by developing documentation and assistance tools.

Required:
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies and be flexible and responsive to critical business needs.
• Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project.
• Strong distributed systems and web services design and implementation experience.
• Recommends system solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development and purchase alternatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field with 4+ years relevant work experience.
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Thorough understanding of Internet protocols such as HTTP, DNS, TCP, and UDP.
• Experience with Agile Development, SCRUM, or Extreme Programming methodologies.

Production I

Job Summary:
As a Production I, you will be assigned the task of editing and publishing Search Initiatives profile pages to ensure appropriateness, accuracy and adherence to standard guidelines. You will also be required to assist with developing highly effective marketing campaigns around keywords and terms that relate to our products in an effort to convert an online browser to a buyer. This role reports to the Director of Production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Proofreads content and edits copy when appropriate to ensure adherence to company standards.
• Edits profiles by reviewing content for completeness, accuracy and correctness of use
• Reviews documents for inconsistencies of thought, development of organization and makes complex recommendations for corrections or corrects as appropriate
• Communicates with Technical Writer and Production Manager
• Reorganizes, eliminates or rewrites various types of content as appropriate to ensure
consistency of thought, organization, style and accuracy
• Edit articles to follow SEO guidelines while maintaining clarity, readability and writer’s original intent
• Develop, create, implement and manage complete search engine marketing campaigns and strategies with set goals from start to finish.
• Daily tasks can include keyword research (discovery and expansion), review and editing of creative copy (titles and descriptions), review and analysis of performance metrics along with the optimization of keywords and keyword bids based on performance.
• Deal directly with customers either by phone or email.
• Assists customers with their listing. Common issues addressed: corrections, changes, general information, billing inquires, refunds, disputes and customer demos
• Be flexible and responsive to critical business needs that require temporarily performing other duties and tasks outside of normal Production I duties and be responsible for achieving and maintaining stated performance standards in those roles as well.

• Experience in Microsoft Products (MS Office, Excel, Word, Etc.)
• Provide exceptional Customer Service to every customer
• Desire to continuously gain more job specific knowledge
• Achieve daily and weekly goals

• SEO experience with focus on writing for conversion/acquisition of the customer is the top requirement.
• 1-3 years experience Educated to degree level or equivalent
• Strong understanding of Internet business models
• Understanding of Internet media business and players in the space
• Basic understanding of ad serving, call tracking and tracking technologies
• Basic understanding of XML, HTML, Pixel load, Display,
• Proficiency in SEO is desired as supportive to duties
